TODTGELICHTER was formed in 2002 by Frederic (guitars) and Tentakel P. (drums)
with the intention to play emotional, intense and innovative Black Metal. Shortly after
Mort (vocals) joined, and with their first demo in 2003 and the addition of Nils (bass) and
Felix (guitars) the band quickly managed to secure a record deal with FOLTER REC.
The resulting albums "Was Bleibt ..." (2005, with Felix being replaced by Claudio
afterwards) and "Schemen" (2007) sold several thousand copies in various editions and
gathered them a loyal, international fan base, new listeners with each release as well as
enthusiastic acclaim from the press. Many successful gigs, including headliner- and
festival-gigs have been played since then as well. In 2009, Mort left and
Nils took over vocals.
TODTGELICHTER 2010
No limitation - no mediocrity - no comparisons. Our musical journey has reached a new
peak with the recording of "Angst" - TODTGELICHTER's most ambitious piece of work
so far, breaking borders between Black, Death and Doom Metal, Rock, Shoegaze and
other influences and melting this into a new experience which will set new standards for darkness and heaviness. What is more, "Angst" comes with a production that can
easily withstands comparison with latest releases of international Extreme Metal top-acts
- once again forged with the help of Eike Freese (DARK AGE) at the newly opened
Hammer Studios, which he runs together with Dirk Schlächter and Kai Hansen of
GAMMA RAY. Furthermore, long-time guest musician Marta joins the official line-up of "Angst". Be prepared! |
