Danish BOIL has with the release of their second album "A New Decay" emphasized the band's obvious talent for creating catchy and melodic rock on an international level

With a "Debut of the Year" nomination at the Danish Metal Awards in their trophy bag, a gig as the opening act at Sweden Rock Festival 2008 and support gigs for Ill Niño and Volbeat on the concert list, BOIL, whose roots are firmly planted in Aarhus, is certainly not standing outside the spotlight on the Danish rock scene.

When forming the band, the common ground for the five guys was to mix genres like metal, grunge, and progressive rock. The sound on the debut album "Vessel" (2007) most definitely lives up to this ambition and resulted in appraisals from the reviewers. In 2010 BOIL released their second album "A New Decay", which clearly shows that the band has personalized their style and sound. BOIL has produced and mixed the album themselves, while Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Heaven Shall Burn) did the mastering. A New Decay was released in the Summer 2010 via Mighty Music/Target and received great reviews in Europe. Metal Hammer awarded the album 6 out 7and called BOIL a potential new heir-taker on the Danish metal scene.

Unlike most other hardrock and metal bands, BOIL's lyrical universe requires quite a lot of attention from the listener. Most of the lyrics on the album are multilayered and require the listener to think for themselves in order to enjoy the full output of the underlying messages. But it's worth the effort, as several very interesting themes are raised in the lyrics. BOIL describes and invokes images in the lyrics without agitating for a specific political doctrine, but rather for a collective, mental wake-up call. BOIL's music matches the reflective lyrical universe, and even though the music is both raw and edgy it contains excellent melodies and catchy choruses – and, furthermore, it is spiced up with numerous technical details and tempo changes as well as built-up passages.

BOIL is a real treat for all music lovers who like subtle and reflective elements in music mixed with metal, prog and rock.
