The dawn of a new dark era has risen, and a new hellish chapter has begun.

Despite the circumstances, I must say that the band and I are extremely motivated and excited to start a new chapter in the saga that is DARK FUNERAL. We've already have some killer plans for the future. And all I can say at this point is that we'll be moving forward with full force and without mercy.

Those of you who've followed Dark Funeral since the beginning in 1993, surly know that this is not the first time we've undergone a major lineup change. And whatever some people may have thought or whined about, no one can deny the fact that I/we've always succeeded in recruiting new and amazing musicians to move forward and reach new heights with the band. There is absolutely no doubt in our mind that this will again be the case.

On August 21st we performed our last show with Emperor Magus Caligula at the Summer Breeze Festival in Germany. Since this was a very special performance in many ways, we not only put on our biggest pyro show ever, we also captured this gig with 10 cameras (including 1 crane). So you can be sure to expect a DVD release from this killer show in the near future. More info regarding the DVD will come in due time…

Since parting ways with E.M.Caligula, it come as no surprise to the rest of us, that B-Force would follow the same path and throw in his towel too. So I wish to thank him for the six fantastic years he'd been with us on bass. It’s been a pleasure indeed working together.

Said B-Force of his decision to leave the band: ´After six awesome and crazy years with Dark Funeral, I have decided to leave the band. It´s my own decision to leave one of the best band/friends in the world, but I feel that I need to move forward in life and do something else music-wise. There are absolutely NO hard feelings between me and Dark Funeral. We are and will continue to be good friends! I want to thank the band and all the fans all over the world. You kick ass everywhere I've been playing with the band. I thank you all. May the dark forces be with you.'-B-Force

We have already found a new and totally amazing bassist; a bassist who lives and breathes Dark Funeral in its purest form. And we couldn't be more honored to have him onboard. We will however wait until everything is settled before we present him to all of you, so please be patient.

Since announcing the departure of Caligula, we've been overwhelmed with vocal applicants. Among them are a couple of very strong candidates. However, since we feel no hurry to fill the position, we'll continue the search to make sure that when we eventually hire someone, it be someone who totally blows away everything in his path.

Here we go with two FANTASTIC news!
First, the guys just got back home to Hungary from Denmark, where we finished the work on the new album with the MAN, Tue Madsen at the Antfarm Studio!

And the other BIG !!!news!!! that after the show in WACKEN Zoli, Tamás and Szaby got a fantastic endorsement deal by GIBSON GUITARS (see photo)!

Here are some words from Zoli:

"Im just so fucking happy, man ! I played many great guitars trough the years like ESP and I also got killer signature models by CAREER guitars. But my favorite Guitar was always GIBSON. You know, it's history, quality and the best sound! Now that we are endorsed by GIBSON GUITARS a dream came, true! For the new album recording session we played GIBSON guitars only. I played on my classic white Flying V and with my black standard SG. The sound is fucking the best ever!!! The Bass Szabi played with was a EPIPHONE Thunderbird. We got a fat killer sound! You can´t stop DEADLOCK! After successful show with Lacuna Coil last spring and great festival appearances at Graspop Metal Meeting (B), Vainstream Rockfest, Vainstream Beastfest etc., the band will escape from the studio to rock German stages with Sonic Syndicate in November!

I would like to inform all of our fans that on Saturday, August 21, at the Summer Breeze festival in Germany, I will be doing my last show with Dark Funeral.

Naturally I have "mixed feelings" about this decision, but it is final!

They say that every person will have about 15min of fame during their life....!

Well, I have had a "hell-of-a-ride" for 15 years now together with Lord Ahriman and Dark Funeral.

As some people love to spread weird rumors about others, let me make this clear once and for all. I have not committed suicide, I have not taken an overdose, nor are there any personal issues between me and Dark Funeral.
However......!

My life has taken a new turn lately, and I am also getting married this year (NOT to some crazy bitch in the U.S though….Hahaha), whereof my priorities in life lie somewhere else.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our fans for their amazing support during all the 15 years I’ve been with the band. And I would also like to thank my brothers in Dark Funeral for all these years together.

Lord Ahriman and I have managed to raise Dark Funeral from the deepest of abyss, when we have confronted problems before. And there is NO doubt in my mind, that Dark Funeral, without me, will raise once more, stronger than ever...
Thus I have spoken, thus shalt it be......

Caligula and I have shared some 15 kick ass years together. And I would naturally like to thank my brother for the amazing work he has done for Dark Funeral over all these years. It’s been a pleasure indeed working together. You will be missed deeply! But as with everything else, I understand when people change course and get new priorities in life. And I fully respect that. Life moves on after all, and so will DARK FUNERAL.

In the meantime, and while we’re searching for a new vocalist, the most logical thing for us to do, is obviously to enter writing mood. And that’s exactly what we’ll be doing. From now on and until we have found and installed a new killer vocalist we begin to work on a new full-length album. However, you can be rest assured that as soon as we have found a new vocalist, we’ll set full force, and continue to tour the world in usual Dark Funeral manner.

THIS STATEMENT ALSO SERVES AS AN OFFICIAL LAUNCH FOR A NEW VOCALIST!
Naturally, our demands on a new vocalist will be VERY high, but I/we are fully confident that there are some amazing vocalists out there that would fit us like a hand in glove. Yet another festival weekend is coming up, but unfortunately we have some bad news for all of our Ukrainian fans.

ProRock 2010 (Ukraine), where we were supposed to play Saturday (July 17) has been cancelled!

We’re extremely disappointed of course, but in this type of situation there’s unfortunately nothing we as a band can do. We do however hope that all of you who have bought tickets for the festival will be refunded by the organizer.

Since we truly hate cancelled shows, our booking agency has, in this very last minute, been trying to arrange a replacement show in Kiev, but since the promoter has failed to keep his part of the deal, a replacement show won’t happen either.

However, tomorrow we’ll definitely play at KALTENBACH OPEN AIR (Austria) as scheduled [http://www.kaltenbach-openair.at]. We will hit the stage at 22:20 and play an hour set. And we’re totally looking forward to it. See you there!!!!

Before I go I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended Hellfest (France), Graspop (Belgium) and Unirock Open Air (Turkey). Your response was phenomenal and we sure had a blast playing at all of them!

[July 14, 2010] Spinefarm meets THE STORM!

Spinefarm Records has signed the Danish act THE STORM ”Black Luck” is the second album for the Storm and it will be released on October 27th worldwide

Since the band was found 2006 it has been one of the most successful and renowned bands in Denmark among the media and music fans. The Storm consists of e charismatic vocalist Pernille Rosendahl (ex-Swan Lee) and Johan Wohlert (ex-Mew)

Their debut album ”Where the Storm Meets the Ground” has sold platinum in Denmark. The album was produced by Roy Thomas Baker who is well known from his work with artists like Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crüe and Guns N’Roses.

The new ”Black Luck” album was produced by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Hatesphere) and Volbeat-vocalist Michael Poulsen is also featured on the album as a co-vocalist. In return Pernille has been a guest vocalist on Volbeat's ”Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood”-album.

”Stockholm death metal” simply wouldn’t be without ENTOMBED – and that’s despite that the band is much more than just pioneers within this genre. It is exactly 20 years ago that ENTOMBED released the groundbreaking death metal album “Left Hand Path” through the then equally groundbreaking label Earache Records; and shortly after the equally seminal albums “Clandestine” and “Wolwerine Blues” where especially the latter marked the band further and gave them the label death ‘n’ roll.

It received high praise from rock/metal media all over Europe (4Ks by Kerrang, 6/7 by Metal Hammer/Germany). DEW-SCENTED have their whole new album Invocation streamed for a full week starting Monday May 17, 2010 up until release date in the UK on May 24, 2010.

Invocation is DEW-SCENTED's first album for Metal Blade and was recorded and mixed at Soundlodge Studio in Northern Germany with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister etc.).

Meanwhile DEW-SCENTED have posted an update on new shows and recap the past few, quite prestigious gigs.

DEW-SCENTED are back home again after some cool shows in these last weekends, so let us give you a small re-cap.

Playing with Bolt Thrower is totally awesome! Great band, great crew, great crowds! We are enjoying every minute of it and look forward to seeing them again this coming Sunday in Luxembourg for a final gig! Truly an outstanding, inspiring band on all levels and a pleasure to finally be able to share stages with them! Thanks for having us!!!

Additionally, it was great to team up with Rotting Christ and Asphyx as well! The Neurotic Deathfest (sold out!) was an awesome day with a killer line-up and tons of buddies from other bands hanging around having a good time! It was cool to see our show turning out to be pretty intense and well attended even though we were worried not to be "brutal death" enough at first. And it was of course great to return to France (Paris and Lyon) and see so many familiar faces there too! We will come back soon…

Oh yeah, and along the way we also supported Heathen (together with our friends in Contradiction) at Essen's great Turock venue! The place was packed with Thrashers, old and young, making it an amazing set for everyone! Would have been cool to play some more shows with Heathen, well, maybe next time!?

In other live-news, we regretfully have to announce that Atheist changed plans in their summer schedule and were forced to pull their whole European visit. Therefor we will unfortunately no longer be playing the previously announced June shows in London (UK), Cologne (D) and Groningen (NL). Too bad! Additionally, the local promoter of the show with Destinity in Colmar (France) on May 14th has also decided to cancel the gig. Sucks ;-(

Please however take notice that DEW-SCENTED are still ON to play Hellfest in France on Saturday, June 19th as a one-off (we play as early as 10:30 AM opening the main stages!), so hope to see some of you there!!! We will provide a heavy awakening, that's for sure!

In better news, we have recently added some really cool new festival dates to our summer schedule: Caos Emergente in Portugal on July 16th and then the German festivals Bang Your Head!!! on July 17th, Baden In Blut on July 31st (therefore we flipped the day of Eisenwahn Festival to Friday July 30th now!) and the Turock Open Air (free show!) on September 10th. Seeing that the release dates of our new album "Invocation" are finally coming closer, we have also started playing some more new songs in our live set. Next to "Arise From Decay", we have now also added "Condemnation" and "Have No Mercy On Us", and that's working out just great!"

"As some of you may, or may not have already heard the news that AGENT STEEL has parted ways with vocalist Bruce Hall. We as a band would like to acknowledge the accomplishments together with Bruce and the (3) three solid
metal offerings; 'OMEGA CONSPIRACY', 'ORDER OF THE ILLUMINATI', and 'ALIENIGMA'. Together we had the fortune of touring and sharing the stage in some amazing places and visited some breathtaking countries. Bruce dedicated
over a decade to AGENT STEEL and for this he should be recognized, and we part on good terms.

We as a band still have the fire and passion to deliver the metal goods to fans from the past, present and future. We had been writing new material for the next chapter of AGENT STEEL, and after the news got out that we separated from Bruce; we were contacted by original singer; CYRIIS. Call it destiny; call it what you will, but now the communicative channel is open between AGENT STEEL and vocalist CYRIIS; we are in talks about an imminent AGENT STEEL reunion tour possibly involving summer/fall 2010 appearances and an extensive '2011' Metal-blitz.

Honestly, we do not know how long this reunion will last; however this could be the long awaited destiny of AGENT STEEL originally interrupted, so long as everything moves forward in an evolving good working climate. Multinational Heavy Metal ladykillers POWERWOLF have to announce the first line-up change in their glorious history.

Comments the band: "Stefane Funebre will have to focus on his increasing religious duties in the future and will therefore no longer be able to join the wolves on their crusade. Funebre will however remain a part of the pack for life and will keep supporting us with his spiritual and mental guidance behind the scenes. As the new member of the wolfpack we welcome Tom Diener, who will take place on the holy drumseat in the future. Tom already toured with us as temporary replacement for Funebre during the last 12 months and in the meantime has become a true member of the pack and a master of the ceremony. Be sure he will unleash some great metal madness with us in the future!"

HSB guitarist Maik Weichert on “Given In Death”: “The topic this song is about is a very sensitive one (mercy killing) and Sabine’s voice just goes along so well with the feeling we tried to create for this piece. It was a pleasure working together with such a talented band as Deadlock.”

“Invictus“ (the full title of which is “Invictus” (Iconoclast III)) was recorded at Tue Madsen’s Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark. Again, the album was produced by the two guitarists Alexander Dietz and Weichert.

Jon Oliva's Pain (from the Mastermind of Savatage), has begun confirming fall tour dates in support if their new CD "FESTIVAL" which was released in Europe/Japan in March. A U.S release date us set for April 12th. More show dates to be added and the band is currently working on U.S tour dates as well.

Highlighting the fall tour will be the live DVD concert filming at the 013 in Tilburg, Holland on October 15. The live DVD has a tentative release date set for early 2011. This will be the first official live DVD release with Oliva handling all the vocal duties. It promises to be a once in a life-time show featuring an assault of SAVATAGE classics and the 4 JOP CD's.  Limited VIP ticket packages for the live DVD show will be offered in the next few weeks. JOP's "FESTIVAL" has received critical acclaim all over Europe with album of the month honors in many countries and cracking into the German Media Control Charts (similar to Billboard Top 100) at #87 in just it's first week of reported sales.

The JOP summer festival season is also taking shape with Graspop, Bang Your Head, and Zwarte Cross confirmed. More festivals and summer shows to be announced as they happen.
